Default Salvage items are weird sometimes

So it's been one month since Factions is out. I have had numerous salvage items drop. Some salvage to silk, leather, cloth, steel, dust, wood, iron, etc. in stacks of 5-10 materials.

However (the reason for this topic), there is the odd occassion of getting one or two of a material. An example is Decaying Mass from Creeping Carp.

I am just wondering, do you think this is designed in or is it a bug? Or am I just unlucky enough never to get the rare materials out of them, despite the sole use of expert salvage kits?

Some salvage items from enemies have lower than normal armor values, resulting in less salvage from them.

These items also sell to merchant for very low, usually 15 gold. However, sometimes they can stack so you can hold 10 of them and it would only take 1 slot.

Hi there,

I'm new to this forum and new to the factions game , but i have found my salvaging to be a mixed bag also. I find as said above those low sale items normally will get 2 leather or one chittin.

On the brightside I have got some nice salvages from missions like dragons throat and love salvaging as a means to upgrade armour or have available gold . Bad language well i can live with it and do =p

If you know the item will result in a low yield salvage, then don't waste your kits on it :O. Just the sell the item as is to the merchant, and it usually is valued higher.

yeah thats a good point , I tend to use kits quickly but still get the ocasional 6 peice of iron ignot or a steel ignot.

Oh and if only I knew that I could equip fans , less chittins more hot summer tea parties =D

Stackable salvage items = not good.

Had those in Prophecies as well. Any salvage item that stacks is pretty much a collectable item without a collector wanting those, yielding one or two of the material :P
